The Franklin Township Public Library strives to make reading accessible for all residents. The library’s collections include a variety of formats designed to make reading easier for readers with special needs.
The library’s onsite collection includes over 5,500 large print books and over 4,000 audiobooks. In addition, readers can download digital audiobooks and eBooks from two platforms, the 3M Cloud Library and OneClickDigital. For more information on these services, please visit the library’s eReading page.
Adult Services Department members at the library have been trained to offer assistance with audiobook downloads from the Braille and Audio Reading Database (BARD) for patrons who have been certified as eligible for these services through the Talking Book & Braille Center (TBBC) of the New Jersey State Library.
The TBBC offers library services to New Jersey Residents of all ages—children, teens, and adults—whose ability to read may be affected by a physical impairment, a reading disability, or a vision impairment.
There is no cost for TBBC’s services. To learn more about eligibility for these services, and to obtain an application, visit the TBBC. Please call the library’s Adult Reference Desk at 732-873-8700, option 3 to set up an appointment for assistance with a BARD download or for additional information about any of these services.
