Detecting and Protecting Your Digital Footprint

ID theft is rampant (1.05+ billion known data records have been breached from 2005 to Oct. 2017, according to The Identity Theft Resource Center).  What can you do to protect yourself?   This session will help you analyze ID safety issues, apply safeguards and connect to online resources so that you can learn how to detect and protect your digital footprint.    You will learn what 2-factor authentication (2FA) is and how to use it, find out how to tell if your username or password has been hacked, how to make passwords difficult for the cyber criminals to hack. And much more!

Robert J. Lackie (Professor-Librarian) is Department Chairperson for the Franklin F. Moore Library at Rider University and a frequent presenter at library, education, and technology conferences.

This event will be held on Wednesday, November 1st at 7:00 p.m. Click here to register.
