Gone Girl, based on the popular novel by Gillian Flynn stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.  It will be shown starting at  2:00 PM in the Community Room and runs until 4:30 PM.   The film has been nominated for several awards, and won many.

On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife? Directed by David Fincher and based upon the global bestseller by Gillian Flynn
Rated R for a scene of bloody violence, some strong sexual content/nudity, and language; 2 hours and 25 minutes.

Nominee and winner of several awards, including winning 3 Golden Globes this year, Boyhood, was filmed over 12 years with the same cast.  This movie will be shown on February 20 starting promptly at 1:30 PM in the Community Room.  Due to the length of this film —2 hours and 45 minutes—the start time is earlier than usual to accommodate building schedules.

A groundbreaking story of growing up as seen through the eyes of a child named Mason (a breakthrough performance by Ellar Coltrane), who literally grows up on screen before our eyes.

Starring Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette as Mason’s parents and newcomer Lorelei Linklater as his sister Samantha, BOYHOOD charts the rocky terrain of childhood like no other film has before. Snapshots of adolescence from road trips and family dinners to birthdays and graduations and all the moments in between become transcendent, set to a soundtrack spanning the years from Coldplay’s Yellow to Arcade Fire’s Deep Blue. BOYHOOD is both a nostalgic time capsule of the recent past and an ode to growing up and parenting. It’s impossible to watch Mason and his family without thinking about our own journey.

Rated R (for language including sexual references, and for teen drug and alcohol use); 2 hrs. 45 mins. Registration is requested; sign up today.
