On May 3rd, Library and Animal Shelter staff dropped off supplies to the Franklin Township Animal Shelter. These supplies were donated to the Second Chance for Animals bin that the library held throughout National Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. Celebrated annually each April, this month is set aside to help raise awareness about the issues that animals face every day. Patrons and staff got into the spirit of the month by dropping off food, blankets, cleaning solution, cat & dog toys, and more. As you can see, the bin was packed to the brim!
We’d like to offer a friendly reminder that, although Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month is over, taking care of our animal friends is a year-round commitment. If you are looking to add a pet to your family, please remember: adopt, don’t shop!
Second Chance for Animals is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization devoted to enhancing the lives, adoption rates, and experiences of animals living in Shelters. To find out how to donate, volunteer, or adopt, please click Here!
