Computer Classes for April 2023

We have two great in-person computer courses and in-person tech help on our schedule for April 2023! No registration is necessary, and no library card is needed to attend. However, limited space is available; patrons will be admitted into the program on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please feel free to bring your own laptop or device, or borrow one of ours.

iPhone Basics Part 1 – Monday, 4/10. DeMott Lane Branch.

A review of the basics for using your iPad or iPhone.  In this class we will cover the use of WiFi or cellular internet connections, popular basic settings, and updating, organizing, and deleting your apps.  Please bring your iPad and iPhone questions to class as well and we will try to answer what we can during the time allotted. No registration required.

iPhone Class Beyond the Basics – Monday, 4/24. DeMott Lane Branch.

Know the basics of your iPhone and want to do more? Learn how to customize your phone, adjust privacy settings, use your camera, and more. Bring your devices and come with questions! Participants should attend our April 10th class first, or be very comfortable with their devices. No registration required.

Drop-In Tech Help @ DeMott Lane – Tuesday, 4/4 at 2pm and Friday, 4/21 at 10:30am.

Stop in for a one-on-one computer help session with one of our librarians! If you have any basic questions about your PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, we can provide detailed assistance. Please note that personal computer repair or virus/malware removal services ARE NOT available during these sessions.

To help make the session as useful as possible, please have a clear goal in mind. Examples include:

  • Setting up an email account (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.)
  • Using the internet
  • Using Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, or PowerPoint
  • Installing and using one of our reading apps
  • Downloading, storing, and/or moving photos from your phone to another device
  • These appointments are drop-in and do not require registration. If others are waiting, session time will be limited to 15 minutes.

The programs listed above are on-site and in-person. Masks are now optional. In-person programming capacity is limited and the Community Room will be set up for proper social distancing. If you have any questions regarding the library’s COVID-19 policies and programming, please call us at 732-873-8700 opt. 3.
