The Franklin Township Public Library would like to thank all of the photographers who submitted work for this year’s “Picturing Franklin” photography contest. The Library received 43 eligible entries, all of which are on display in the Library’s lobby and Historical Room display cases. The winners were announced during a reception at the Library on January 29th. First and second prize winners were announced in each of five categories: Architecture/Landmark, Judges’ Choice, Landscape, Nature/Animals, and People.
The Franklin Township Public Library accepted entries for this year’s “Picturing Franklin” photography contest from Monday, December 5th, through Friday, January 20th. Photographs must have been taken within Franklin Township during the last five years, and capture an aspect of architecture, history, nature, or lifestyle in the Township. Submissions could be black-and-white or color, but must have been un-mounted prints at least 5”x7” and no larger than 8”x10” in size. Entries were judged on technical quality, artistic merit and visual impact.
First prize winners will receive $100 each, while second prize winners will receive $25 each. All submissions will become permanent additions to the Library’s Franklin Township photo archive and will not be returned.
Photographer names as well as winning entries are now noted on the original photographs. All 43 eligible entries will remain on display in the Library’s lobby and Historical Room display cases through the end of February; stop by and take a look!
