The Fourth of July has passed, and that means summer has truly started. You may already be sick of the pool, although we doubt it, but just in case you want to vary your routine a bit, why not try one of the “Free and Almost Free Places” for fun in New Jersey (and some in nearby states)? This site has 50 places/activities listed, and there are more in the comments. Check it out and see what other places or lists you find on your own!
On Monday May 12 and 19, the Libray is holding a free class on Microsoft’s Excel 2007 at 10:30 am – 12:00 pm (both days) in the Community Room.
Learn the basics of this popular software program designed for storing, organizing and manipulating data. This class will discuss the parts of a spreadsheet, including columns, rows and cells. Participants will create a basic spreadsheet during class.
You must be able to use a mouse and be familiar with basic computer concepts such as opening, closing, and resizing windows before taking this class.
Class size is strictly limited, and registration is required. PLEASE NOTE: This class is the same on both days. Registrants will be limited to one of two sessions.
Don’t forget to register for the free SAT review classes being held Tuesday, April 1 (we promise this isn’t a prank) and Saturday, April 5. You MUST register to attend either class, and we encourage you to come to both and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
We are happy to welcome back Ameer Sohrawardy, an assistant professor of English Literature at Rutgers University – Newark, with over 10 years of experience as an SAT instructor. Professor Sohrawardy will be presenting successful strategies that students can use to confidently handle both the written and essay portions of the SAT exam. There will also be time for Q & A about the entire SAT examination process. Those working to improve their prose writing skills are encouraged to attend as well.
