Tech Buddy FAQ:

What is Tech Buddies?

Teens grades 8-12 assist kids grades 1-5 as they learn to code, build, create videos, and more using library provided technology. Tech Buddies will also assist the supervisor in planning activities for the kids.

What library technology will Tech Buddies be using?

To start:

  • Straws and Connectors
  • Snap Circuits
  • Spheros

Future tech:

  • Raspberry Pi
  • iMovie (iPad and MacBooks)
  • GarageBand (iPad and MacBooks)
  • Scratch
  • Paper Circuits
  • Makey Makey
  • Green Screen

When will Tech Buddies take place?

Applications will be due by April 14th. Accepted applicants will notified by April 30th. Tech Buddies will begin planning activities in May. Teen Tech Buddies will officially begin in July as part of Summer Reading.

How many applicants will be accepted?


Will I receive volunteer hours as a Tech Buddy?

Yes, but the total hours have yet to be determined as this is the first year we have run this program.
