Elton H. L. Wade and Family :
Title:
Unique Girls at Neshanic
Date:
07/07/1924
Description:
These two girls exhibit a radically different style than was common to the time period: their hair is long and unbound and they are wearing what appear to be a precursor of capris. The shorts are poofy until they get below the knee, where they are gathered and there is a tighter cuff. These may be an article of men's clothing or be specially made. They appear to be wearing stockings under the capris and simple shoes. A tent and cooking pan are visible behind them. The girl on the left may be Dorothy Totten and on the right may be Elton's sister, Lelia Wade.
