New York World's Fair (1939—1940) :
Title:
Comic mirror
Date:
10/24/1939
Description:
The stunted reflection in a Comic Mirror in the Kodak Picture Garden at the New York 1939 World's Fair. Elton can be seen on the left taking this picture. Just behind him is Sarah. The other people in the photo are unknown. The woman next to Sarah is wearing a plaid jacket and a simple dress and is holding a pennant of some kind. She has a package tucked under her arm that is labeled "sanuom" or "healthy" in Latin. The man to her right is wearing a striped jacket. He seems to be crouching down to make himself look even smaller. There is a large thin bundle in front of him that may be some kind of duffel bag. The man by the edge of the mirror is dressed in slacks, tie and vest and a dark overcoat. They are all wearing hats, as was the fashion of the time period.

The sign above the mirror can only be partially read: ...LF AT ...W YORK'S WORLD FAIR. It may say "See yourself at New York's World Fair".
