New York World's Fair (1939—1940) :
Title:
Robot Man and Wall Figures, World's Fair
Date:
10/24/1939
Description:
Robot man in the Westinghouse Exhibit, New York World's Fair 1939-1940. This image shows the right of the Robot Man. The presenter is next to him and you can see the beginnings of the crowd in the lower right corner. On the wall are four statues - the woman with the Statue of Liberty crown, and a motherly figure with a girl and boy figure (the boy is inferred from the view of it's legs - it's wearing shorts and more masculing shoes). Under the motherly figure are parts of an uncomplete sign: "day, (t)rical freedom" and below that on the edge of the awning it says "planned electric kitchen for the apartment" on the left side and "planned electric kitchen for the home" closer to the Robot Man.
