Happy Pi Day!

Here are some fun facts about Pi (3.14) that you may not have pi-pieknown:

 

  • Pi (Π) is the 16th letter of the Greek alphabet.

  • Pi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter (Π = c/d)

  • Π became the commonly used symbol for Pi around 1706 thanks to Mr. William Jones.

  • Π has no exact value.

  • Chao Lu (of China) holds the Guinness World Record for memorizing & reciting the digits of Π up to 67,890 places (as of November 20 2005).
