Special Events



A Stroll Through the Met’s Egyptian Art: An Arm Chair Art Tour – Thursday, 10/28 at 7pm.

Discover Ancient Egyptian culture and art through sculpture, jewelry, mummies, and architecture from The Met’s collection. Click here to register.



‘We’re All Made of Dead Stars!’ Intro to Stellar Life Cycles – Wednesday, 10/20 at 7pm.

Learn about stars! No astronomy degrees required; this is an introductory-level, fun presentation with simple diagrams, awesome pictures, and ample time for questions. Click here to register.



Health & Fitness



Beginner Yoga – Mondays at 5pm via Zoom.

New to yoga? Learn the foundations for establishing a safe and effective yoga practice. Click one of the following dates to register: 10/11 | 10/18 | 10/25



Chair Yoga – Thursday, 10/14 and 10/28 via Zoom.

This gentle class focuses on an exploration of basic yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. Register here: 10/14 | 10/28



Meditation – Thursday, 10/14 at 7pm via Zoom.

Are you interested in trying meditation to reduce stress or calm your mind? Come try a guided mindfulness meditation session. The process focuses on non-judgmental awareness of our thoughts and actions to achieve relaxation and calm. Please click here to register.



Tai Chi for Beginners – Saturday, 10/16 at 7pm via Zoom.

Experience authentic Tai Chi training, also referred to as ‘Meditation in Motion,’ with Dr. Gang Huang. Click here to register.

Career Resources



Build Your Resume — And Your Career – Thursday, 10/14 at 7pm via Zoom.

A staff member from the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board will discuss their new Resume Portal as well as resumes and LinkedIn. Click here to register.



Workforce Wednesday: Neuro-Linguistic Programming Tools – Wednesday, 10/20 at 10am.

Jan Goodman, the Community Outreach Specialist for the Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center, will present on NLP tools for real life. Click here to register.



Literature



FTPL Virtual Book Club – October, 10/9 at 11am

Everything Else



English as a Second Language Class – Wednesdays in October at 3pm via Zoom.

A free, Basic ESL conversation group led by an experienced, NJ-certified ESL teacher. Offered to ESL students who have a basic, working knowledge of English and wish to gain confidence speaking English. Click one of the following dates to register: 10/6 | 10/13 | 10/20 | 10/27



Pet Loss Support – Sunday, 10/17 at 1:15pm via Zoom.

Pet parents who have lost a pet, or anticipate a loss, gather to share stories and memories with like minds and hearts. The Friends of Nikki Pet Loss Support Group was founded 3/8/01 and has been serving the community for over 19 years.
