Special Events



Caretaking and COVID-19 – Tuesday, 11/2 at 7pm via Zoom.

Most likely, dementia does not increase risk for COVID-19. However, dementia-related behaviors, increased age and common health conditions that often accompany dementia may increase risk. Join us to learn about additional precautions you can take to help keep people living with dementia safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, whether at home or in a residential care setting. Click here to register.



Broadway 101: Broadway Returns! – Tuesday, 11/16 at 7pm via Zoom.

Theatre enthusiast Brian Stoll will discuss all things Broadway–from history to the importance of the Playbill to money-saving tips on how to see shows for less than $50. Click here to register.



Buying Your First Telescope – Wednesday, 11/17 at 7pm via Zoom.

The Art of Coziness: Food, Holistic Strategies, & Seasonal Tips for a Cozier Life – Tuesday, 11/23 at 7pm via Zoom.

Embrace the season in a uniquely cozy way with practical tips to support comfort and happiness at home.  We will explore cooking ideas, home décor approaches, and lifestyle strategies that create a warm, joy-filled environment filled with simple pleasures. This class is grounded in cultural approaches to coziness that apply to all of our lives, particularly as we seek new ways to enjoy time at home and celebrate togetherness. Health & Fitness



Beginner Yoga – Mondays at 5pm via Zoom.

Chair Yoga – Thursday, 11/4 and 11/18 via Zoom.

Meditation – Thursday, 11/18 at 7pm via Zoom.

Are you interested in trying meditation to reduce stress or calm your mind? Come try a guided mindfulness meditation session. The process focuses on non-judgmental awareness of our thoughts and actions to achieve relaxation and calm. Please click here to register.



Tai Chi for Beginners – Saturday, 11/6 and 11/20 at 7pm via Zoom.

Experience authentic Tai Chi training, also referred to as ‘Meditation in Motion,’ with Dr. Gang Huang. Click here to register.



Zumba Gold Chair and Pilates – Wednesdays at 2pm via Zoom.

FTPL Virtual Book Club – November, 11/13 at 11am via Zoon.

English as a Second Language Class – Wednesday, 11/3 and 11/10 at 3pm via Zoom.

A free, Basic ESL conversation group led by an experienced, NJ-certified ESL teacher. Offered to ESL students who have a basic, working knowledge of English and wish to gain confidence speaking English. Click one of the following dates to register: 11/3 | 11/10



Virtual Sit n’ Knit – Wednesday, 11/17 at 2:30pm via Zoom.

Pet Loss Support – Sunday, 11/21 at 1:15pm via Zoom.

Pet parents who have lost a pet, or anticipate a loss, gather to share stories and memories with like minds and hearts. The Friends of Nikki Pet Loss Support Group was founded 3/8/01 and has been serving the community for over 19 years.
