Special Events



Chasing Bigfoot – Thursday, 9/8 at 6pm. DeMott Lane Branch or Online via Zoom.

Join Producer, lead investigator and New Jersey native Mike Familant as he shares his experiences researching and tracking down the truth behind North America’s most iconic cryptid. Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Grassman, Skunk Ape or Big Red Eye: whatever name you choose to call this large, bipedal hominid, Familant has tried to track it down. He has been researching this creature for over 12 years, and will share some of footage he has captured along the way. Please click here to register.



Manhattan Short Film Festival – Monday, 9/26 at 5pm, Tuesday, 9/27 at 10:30am, and Friday, 9/30 at 10:30am and 1:30pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

Join film lovers from around the world for the 25th annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival. Audiences in over 500 cities spanning 6 continents unite for one week to view and judge the work of the next generation of filmmakers from around the world. Attendees will view the films before voting for the best film and best actor at the conclusion of the program. Discussing Energy Aggregation – Thursday, 9/29 at 6pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

Energy Aggregation (EA) is a local issue: it will be a question on the township’s ballot this fall. This presentation will help residents understand EA so they can make an informed decision during the election. Please click here to register.



Computer Help



Drop-In Tech Help – Wednesday, 9/7 from 11am to 1pm. Franklin Park Branch.

Adults that have basic questions about computers, or their tech devices, are welcome to drop-in at the Franklin Park Branch for help. Bring your own device, or use a library computer. One-on-One help will be available during this time. If others are waiting, time will be limited to 15 minutes. No registration is required.



Health & Fitness (Special)



Mental Health Support Group – Monday, 9/12 at 6:30pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

Adults who are 65 and older with severe mental illness have higher rates of comorbid medical conditions and are less likely to obtain quality health care or experience improvements in mental health outcomes. All are welcome to this support group that will discuss psychosocial interventions for older adults with serious mental illness. The group is appropriate for adults dealing with mental illness, and/or their families and friends. Click here to register.



Grief Support Group – Monday, 9/19 at 6:30pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

All are welcome to join us for this grief support group. Review the stages of grief and learn coping skills to relieve anxiety. Topics discussed will include how to handle grief during this difficult pandemic. Click here to register.



Health & Fitness (Recurring)



Beginner Yoga – Mondays at 5pm via Zoom.

Chair Yoga – Thursday, 9/8 and 9/22 at 11am via Zoom.

This gentle class focuses on an exploration of basic yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. Register here: 9/8 | 9/22



Meditation – Thursday, 9/8 at 7pm via Zoom.

Are you interested in trying meditation to reduce stress or calm your mind? Come try a guided mindfulness meditation session. The process focuses on non-judgmental awareness of our thoughts and actions to achieve relaxation and calm. Please click here to register.



Tai Chi for Beginners – Saturday, 9/10 and Saturday, 9/24 at 7pm via Zoom.

Zumba Gold Chair and Pilates – Wednesdays at 2pm via Zoom.

Everything Else



Conversational English as a Second Language (ESL) Class – Wednesdays at 3pm. DeMott Lane Branch

A free, basic ESL conversation group for students who have a basic working knowledge of English and wish to gain more confidence speaking English.

Pet Loss Support – Sunday, 9/18 at 1:15pm via Zoom.

Pet parents who have lost a pet, or anticipate a loss, gather to share stories and memories with like minds and hearts. The Friends of Nikki Pet Loss Support Group was founded 3/8/01 and has been serving the community for over 19 years.
