Computer Classes for January 2023

We have three great in-person computer courses on our schedule for January 2023. No registration is necessary, and no library card is needed to attend. However, limited space is available; patrons will be admitted into the program on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please feel free to bring your own laptop or device, or borrow one of ours.

Computer BasicsMonday, January 9 at 10:30am-12:00pm at DeMott Lane
If you’re new to computer use, this very basic class will cover using a mouse and keyboard, navigating computer applications and web browsers, and answer your questions.

Introduction to PowerPointWednesday, January 25 at 6:00-7:30pm at DeMott Lane
Microsoft PowerPoint is a program used to create presentations and visual aids. It is used in offices, classrooms and other settings. This class will cover how to create, design and format a presentation that fits the audience and how to best use it so that it fits the message you want to convey. You are expected to know how to use a mouse before taking this class.

Internet BasicsMonday, January 30 at 10:30am-12:00pm at DeMott Lane
This class will include a brief history and description of what the internet is and how to navigate it using a web browser.  We will do some basic searching and learn what makes up a good website. You are expected to know how to use a mouse before taking this class.

The programs listed above are on-site and in-person. Masks are now optional. In-person programming capacity is limited and the Community Room will be set up for proper social distancing. If you have any questions regarding the library’s COVID-19 policies and programming, please call us at 732-873-8700 opt. 3.
