Computer Classes for March 2023

We have two great in-person computer courses and in-person tech help on our schedule for March 2023! No registration is necessary, and no library card is needed to attend. However, limited space is available; patrons will be admitted into the program on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please feel free to bring your own laptop or device, or borrow one of ours.

Intro to Excel – Monday, March 13 at 10:30am-12:00pm at DeMott Lane

Learn the basics of this popular software program designed for storing, organizing and manipulating data. This class will discuss the parts of a spreadsheet, including columns, rows and cells. Participants will create a basic spreadsheet during class. You must be able to use a mouse and be familiar with basic computer concepts such as opening, closing, and re-sizing windows before taking this class. No registration required.

Topics in Excel – Monday, March 27 at 10:30am-12:00pm at DeMott Lane

Learn more of the basics of this popular software program designed for storing, organizing and manipulating data. Participants will create a basic spreadsheet during class and practice using some more of the tools in this program. Registrants should have already taken Introduction to MS Excel 2013 before taking this class, or at least have familiarity with Excel basics. No registration required.

Drop-In Tech Help @ DeMott Lane – Tuesday, 3/7 at 2pm and Friday, 3/24 at 10:30am.

Stop in for a one-on-one computer help session with one of our librarians! If you have any basic questions about your PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, we can provide detailed assistance. Please note that personal computer repair or virus/malware removal services ARE NOT available during these sessions.

To help make the session as useful as possible, please have a clear goal in mind. Examples include:

  • Setting up an email account (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.)
  • Using the internet
  • Using Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, or PowerPoint
  • Installing and using one of our reading apps
  • Downloading, storing, and/or moving photos from your phone to another device
  • These appointments are drop-in and do not require registration. If others are waiting, session time will be limited to 15 minutes.

The programs listed above are on-site and in-person. Masks are now optional. In-person programming capacity is limited and the Community Room will be set up for proper social distancing. If you have any questions regarding the library’s COVID-19 policies and programming, please call us at 732-873-8700 opt. 3.
