Stop by for one of our free computer classes at the Franklin Township Public Library! Here are the classes we have on the schedule for this month, September 2023:

Tech Help @ DeMott Lane – Wednesday, 9/20 from 10:30am to 12pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

Sign up for a one-on-one computer help session with one of our librarians! If you have any basic questions about your PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, we can provide detailed assistance. Please note that personal computer repair or virus/malware removal services ARE NOT available during these sessions.

To help make the session as useful as possible, please have a clear goal in mind. Examples include:

Setting up an email account (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.)
Using the internet
Using Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, or PowerPoint
Installing and using one of our reading apps
Downloading, storing, and/or moving photos from your phone to another device

Please call the reference desk at 732-873-8700 opt. 3 to register.

Megabyte Mondays: Every Monday at 10:30am. DeMott Lane Branch. No registration required!

Microsoft Word Part 1 – Monday, 9/11 at 10:30am. Learn the basics of this popular program. During this class, students will explore how to create and edit a Word document, while becoming familiar with the general tools of the program (based on the 2007 edition of the software). Although this class will cover only the basics, registrants must be able to use a mouse.

Microsoft Word Part 2 – Monday, 9/18 at 10:30am. Explore topics relating to the MS Word program. It is recommended you attend part one, or have some familiarity with Word, before taking this class.

Using eBooks and Library Apps – Monday, 9/25 at 10:30am. Have you ever checked out an eBook from the library? We have two different apps through which to use eBooks: Hoopla and CloudLibrary. If you want an in-depth lesson on how to access the digital collection, this class is for you. We will also cover searching the catalogue and managing your account. You must be able to use a mouse and be familiar with basic computer concepts such as opening, closing, and re-sizing windows before taking this class.

For questions about these or any other library programs, please leave a comment below or call the reference desk at 732-873-8700 opt. 3.

Thanks for reading,
George, FTPL
