Our Winter Reading 2020 Program Has Officially Begun! 3

Reading is Always is Season! The adult winter reading program is a fun way to enjoy some of the things you love most about the library. Here is what you need to know:

1. Registration is open to all active card holders ages 18 & up.

2. Count the number of hours spent reading (need not be consecutive) to earn drawing tickets. Stop by the library for a reading log to help you keep track.

  • Collect a reading prize and one drawing ticket after you record your first hour of reading.
  • Receive two tickets for each hour that you read after that up to 20 hours.
  • You can also earn one drawing ticket for each submission to the library’s new Perfect Picks reader’s advisory program. Click here to learn more about Perfect Picks!
  • All reading counts: books, newspapers, magazines, online articles, ebooks, audiobooks, etc.

3. Record your reading online (in 60-minute increments) at the library website (www.franklintwp.org) or visit the library and a staff member will help you. Click here to sign up and/or log reading hours!

4. Six grand prize drawings will receive a $25 Amazon gift card. Entries for the grand prize drawing must be received by March 15, 2020.

5. Last day to redeem all prizes is March 31, 2020.

If you have any questions about our Winter Reading Program, Perfect Picks, or anything else, please call the Reference Desk at 732-873-8700 ext.111 or leave a comment below!

Hello, Library folks! I am wondering what is going with the drawing for the Winter Reading Program. I haven’t seen any communications about this.

Still wondering what happened about the prizes for the Winter Reading Program. Did it fall by the wayside due to the pandemic, or are you waiting to do the drawing when the library re-opens? It would be great to have those Amazon gift cards to order something while we are quarantined.

Hi Catherine, thank you for the question! Apologies for the late reply! We announced the winners and mailed the prizes back in March, so if you didn’t receive a notification you would have gotten the card by now. As far as I know, we will be doing Summer Reading 2020 as well, so stay tuned for information about the prizes for that.

Thanks again, and stay safe out there.
