Project Status

Roofing Project

Start Date: April 8, 2024

End Date: late May, 2024 (estimated)

  • Construction is expected to begin the week of April 8, 2024.
  • New Arrivals, Graphic Novels and Manga, and DVD/Blu-ray collections are now located in the first few rows of the Nonfiction stacks across from the Media Room.
  • Access to Gallery, including the Fiction and Large Print collections, Magazines, as well as the stilent study rooms is currently unavailable.
  • Patrons may continue to place holds on inaccessable collections. During the day holds cannot be retrieved from the staff while construction work is occuring. Patrons should expect a minimum of 24 hours delay on any holds placed on materials in the Adult Fiction and Large Print collections.
The library will remain open throughout the project. Visitors should expect modifications to various library services as the project progresses. Impacts include but are not limited to:
 
  • New Arrivals, DVDs and Blu-rays, and Manga/Graphic Novels will be moving to the front of the nonfiction collection.
  • Both quiet study rooms will be unavailable for the duration of the project.
  • Limited to no access to the DeMott Lane Branch’s Fiction and Large Type collections as the project progresses starting in early April. Details on requesting titles for checkout will be posted at a later date.
  • The restrooms in the front of the library will be inaccessible. Guests may use the handicap restroom in the Children's Department or the public restrooms in the Municipal or Public Safety buildings.
  • Modified entrance and exit locations.

 

Library Systems Update

The library is currently operating our new system OFFLINE. Please note the following information:
  • The library catalog is current only through 5/6/2024. Item availability may not be accurately reflected.  The catalog can ONLY be used to look up books and other materials. The following services are unavailable:
    • Logging in to My Account.
    • Placing Holds
    • Paying Fines Online.
  • When visiting any branch we are currently UNABLE to:
    • Place Holds.
    • Accept fine payments.
    • Register new users.
    • Renew users.
  • Requests for library materials, both recommendations to purchase and ILL will not be processed until after May 15.
  • Pickups for Museum Passes and Book Club Kits will not be available until May 18.
  • You may continue to use electronic resources, including cloudLibrary, without interuption.

We expect to return to regular service on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Details on accessing the new library catalog as well as your library account will be announced via email, the library website, and social media.
