Special Programs and Events for December 2022

In addition to our list of recurring events, the library now hosts a mix of in-person and online special events and programs that you can attend from home! Click here for our full calendar of events, which also includes young adult and children’s programs.



U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services Information Session – Friday, 12/2 at 11am via Zoom.

The session will highlight the Naturalization eligibility requirements as well information regarding the Naturalization fee and filing process, interview, testing, Oath Ceremony, as well as a look at key online customer service tools and where to seek legal help if needed. Presented by a representative from United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Please click here to register.



Medicare Information Session – Tuesday, 12/6 at 10am. DeMott Lane Branch.

The program will address information for Medicare beneficiaries. Topics will include changes in Medicare costs for 2023 and a review of Medicare savings programs and qualifications to help pay for Medicare expenses. Information will also be reviewed to help people during the open enrollment period make decisions for their Medicare coverage for 2023. The presentation will conclude with discussion and any questions. Presented by an Eldercare Educator from the Somerset County Office of Aging and Disability Services. No registration required.



Book Bingo! – Thursday, 12/8 at 6pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

The Discovery of a Masterpiece: A Rodin in Madison, NJ – Tuesday, 12/14 at 6pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

Learn how a simple art cataloging project evolved into a search for a mysterious piece’s provenance and became one of the biggest art finds in recent history, right here in New Jersey. Please click here to register.



NEW Recurring Events



Coloring Club – Mondays at 6:30pm. Lewis Street Branch.

Join us for some creative and relaxing fun with colored pencils and coloring pages. No registration required!



Drop-In Tech Help @ DeMott Lane – Friday, 12/2 at 2:30pm and Wednesday, 12/7 at 10:30am.

Stop in for a one-on-one computer help session with one of our librarians! If you have any basic questions about your PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, we can provide detailed assistance. Please note that personal computer repair or virus/malware removal services ARE NOT available during these sessions.

To help make the session as useful as possible, please have a clear goal in mind. Examples include:

  • Setting up an email account (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.)
  • Using the internet
  • Using Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, or PowerPoint
  • Installing and using one of our reading apps
  • Downloading, storing, and/or moving photos from your phone to another device

These appointments are drop-in and do not require registration. If others are waiting, session time will be limited to 15 minutes.
