Return of the Friday Movie Matinees!

Movie Matinees return to the DeMott Lane branch for the first time since 2020! Once each month, we screen recent buzzworthy movies free of charge and with no registration required. Here are our selections for April and May 2023:

The Fablemans (2022). Friday, 4/21 at 2pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

PG-13. Running Time: 2 hours 31 minutes.

Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographic film tells the story of young Sammy Fabelman, who falls in love with movies after his parents take him to see “The Greatest Show on Earth.” Armed with a camera, Sammy starts to make his own films at home, much to the delight of his supportive mother.

All library movie screenings are shown with subtitles. The room opens approximately 10 minutes before showtime.

A Man Called Otto (2022). Friday, 5/12 at 2pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

PG-13. Running Time: 2 hours, 6 minutes.

Based on Fredrik Backman’s best-selling novel A Man Called Ove. When a lively young family moves in next door, grumpy widower Otto Anderson meets his match in a quick-witted, pregnant woman named Marisol, leading to an unlikely friendship that turns his world upside down.

All library movie screenings are shown with subtitles. The room opens approximately 10 minutes before showtime.
