Special Events and Programs for November 2023

New Recurring Events



Tai Chi for Beginners – Tuesday, 11/7 at 6pm (in-person) and Tuesday, 11/21 at 6pm (virtual)

Dr. Gang Huang, the founder of ‘Seeking Tai Chi,’ will be teaching Tai Chi classes for those who have little or no Tai Chi experience. The focus will be on fundamentals that aim to improve strength, balance, coordination, and inner piece to lead to healthy living. It is not necessary to attend previous classes to benefit from a Tai Chi for Beginner session. This will be a perfect opportunity to get to experience authentic Tai Chi training which is also referred to as ‘Meditation in Motion.’ Click to register: 11/7 (in-person) | 11/21 (virtual)



Alzheimer’s New Jersey Family Support Group – Tuesday, 11/14 at 1pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

Held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, Alzheimer’s New Jersey Family Support Groups provide families and caregivers with the emotional support and education they need. Registration is not required and walk-ins are welcome.



Endangered Eating and the Hunt for Rare Apples – Tuesday, 11/14 at 6pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

Sarah Lohman will share the history of apples and hard cider in New Jersey, and the stories of three apples reclaimed from the brink of extinction. Please click here to register.



Movie Matinees Polite Society (2023): Friday, 11/17. DeMott Lane Branch.

Martial artist-in-training Ria Khan believes she must save her older sister Lena from her impending marriage. After enlisting the help of her friends, Ria attempts to pull off the most ambitious of all wedding heists in the name of independence and sisterhood. Rated PG-13. TRT 1 hour, 43 minutes. No registration required!



Death Cafe – Thursday, 11/30 at 6pm. DeMott Lane Branch.

Death is universal but how different people and cultures deal with death is unique. A Death Cafe is an an event where people come together in a safe and friendly environment to bring up a taboo subject—death! Have you been wanting to talk about it but thought it was too weird? Or have you had an experience you’d like to share? A Death Café is not necessarily a support group or grief counseling, it is a neutral space to show up together to chat with a death doula and other participants. No registration required!



Sit n’ Stitch @ Franklin Park – Wednesday, 11/29 at 11am. Franklin Park Branch.

Spend some time with other crafters and work on your current knitting, crocheting, or other needle craft project. No registration required!
