These Online Reading Apps Are Available Any Time With Your Library Card!

Looking for something to keep you occupied over Memorial Day Weekend this year? Try one of our reading apps! They are free to use with your FTPL card, and you can begin reading, listening, or watching right away. To get started with these apps, please make sure you have your library card number, PIN, and a current email address ready.

eBooks and Audiobooks

Read or listen to your favorite authors on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or PC!

  • Available on computer and mobile devices; including iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire devices*. Sync your reading across devices.
  • Search for titles, checkout/borrow and place holds right in the app.
  • Checkout up to 6 items at a time for 14 days.
  • No overdue fees; return when finished or items will auto-return at due date.
  • Renewals subject to availability.
  • Place up to 6 items on hold.

In addition to a wide variety of eBooks and audiobooks, Hoopla gives you access to popular movies and TV, as well as a large selection of comic books!

  • Available on computer and mobile devices; sync across devices.
  • Search for titles and checkout/borrow right in the app.
  • Check out a maximum of 4 items per month.
  • Borrowing periods: ebooks, comics, and audiobooks for 21 days; music albums for 7 days
  • Titles always available, no waiting, no holds.
  • No overdue fees; items will auto-return at due date.
  • Items cannot be returned early; no need to renew, just borrow again.

Magazines and Newspapers

Get access to more than 7,000 of the world’s top newspapers and magazines as soon as they’re available on shelves.

To get started:

  • Visit Pressreader.
  • Go to Sign-In.
  • Go to Library or Group.
  • Search for Franklin Township Public Library
  • Enter your Barcode and PIN
  • Create a Pressreader account.
